BioConvergence LLC, a life sciences contract service provider, has recently acquired two Ultra High Performance Liquid Chromatography (UHPLC) systems.

UHPLC

Bloomington, IN (February 2, 2016)–The development laboratory at BioConvergence has recently acquired two 2015 Vanquish™ UHPLC Systems; each equipped with a Vanquish Diode Array Detector HL (DAD) with Thermo Scientific™ LightPipe™ technology. The Vanquish UHPLC systems have the ability to perform at pressures up to 22,000 psi, allow the use of smaller sample sizes, and use less reagents. The DAD achieves excellent signal-to-noise performance through minimal baseline noise, a long detection light source, and low peak dispersion. Improved detection through the DAD provides better peak separation to provide earlier detection if samples begin to degrade or change as a result of storage conditions. These factors all combine for more repeatable results and better chromatography.

BioConvergence invested in the additional UHPLC systems in order to increase capacity, as well as to improve analysis. Ken Chomistek, the Product and Analytical Development Manager at BioConvergence, further explained, “The UHPLC systems allow us to use smaller quantities of clients’ valuable materials while performing all types of studies. Also, this addition to our laboratory will make methods transfers easier, allowing us to improve service to our clients.”
